Introduction to the fundamental belly dance basic moves, isolations, basic shimmies, move combinations and fun traveling steps. Transitions and variations. Combinations and basic choreography. No dance experience needed.
Reviews what is learned in the previous levels and introduces intermediate level moves, layering and more traveling steps and complex transitions. Understanding musicality in detail and choreography.
Reviews previous levels. Complex moves and combinations, choreography and improvisational skills. Instructions will include sword, zill playing, cane and tray balancing. Performance opportunities available.
Open to all students intermediate level and up interested in learning different choreographies and stage performance. Ideal for dancers who aim at belonging to a dance troupe. Participation in class does not guarantee becoming a dance troupe member.
This course is for those who want to become professionals in performing this art form. Program covers different aspects of the business as well as how to create stunning choreographies, performing tips and tricks, how to work with different audiences, and much more. Pre-requisite: Must be advanced dancer and instructors approval required.
Dress in layers. In the fall and winter studios tend to be on the cool side, however as we get moving you will warm up and find that you may want to remove some layers for comfort. Tank top or exercise top, leggings or yoga pants, hip scarf with or without coins (there may be a limited number that you can borrow). Class is usually conducted barefoot, socks or you can bring ballet/jazz slippers if you have them.
